The Fusion 300 is the ideal WLAN Controller for next generation Wi-Fi® networks for the small to medium sized business (SMB), providing an unmatched voice and data mobility solution for up to 250 users.

The Fusion 300 is easy to deploy and manage, provides enterprise-grade security, and provides toll-quality voice and seamless roaming for Wi-Fi capable phones.

The solution consists of two main components: the Fusion 300 Wireless LAN Controller and Fusion Access Points (APs), either the Fusion 50 (802.11b/g) or Fusion 70 (802.11b/g/n), which combine to allow the fastest and most cost effective entry to the rapidly growing Wi-Fi mobility market.

The Fusion 300 is optimized for environments that may have limited in-house IT or wireless expertise and scales seamlessly from a few users up to 250 users. EasyPoint™ provides plug-and-play set-up, usually within 15 minutes, and automatic RF optimization. Clarion™ Voice provides out-of-the-box support for toll-quality voice and fast, seamless roaming.

EasyPoint™ Plug-and-Play Configuration & RF Management

With EasyPoint, almost the entire burden of configuring a wireless network is lifted from the shoulders of IT. The administrator can simply assign an IP address to the controller, a name to the wireless network, and some simple security parameters to have a secure network up and running — typically in less than 15 minutes.

Everything else is handled automatically — from enabling individual radios, to creating BSSes, to scanning for rogues. The system even automatically detects VLAN and network topology and creates the proper configuration to allow users to roam seamlessly.

Once the system is up and running, the administrator will learn that he or she has tremendous power and configured at his disposal with the Fusion 300. But with its template capabilities, EasyPoint™ makes exercising that power very easy. Decisions over advanced features like load-balancing and beacon interval can be configured once, and that template is then always available to the administrator in the future.

Beyond just simplifying configuration, EasyPoint™ also ensures that the network is optimal. Understanding and optimizing Wi- Fi is not easy in a world where the wireless spectrum is polluted by everything from the Wi-Fi network of the cafe next door to the microwave oven in the kitchen. That's why EasyPoint™ does the work. As new APs are attached to the network, the APs automatically select the best channel for each radio in each band, and set the power level to provide the best overall bandwidth to the largest possible coverage area — taking into account not just other system APs, but APs from neighboring businesses, and even RF noise from other devices.

Data Security

The number one concern of IT administrators, when it comes to the question of deploying Wi-Fi® is security. U4EA's access points are Wi-Fi Certified for WPA2, so your data is fully secured with 256 bit AES/CCMP encryption.

User Authentication

But securing your data is only one piece of the puzzle. The Fusion 300 manages each users authentication. If you already have an authentication database in place, either RADIUS or Microsoft's Active Directory, then users can be authenticated against that. In the event that you don't, the Fusion 300 provides an on-board RADIUS server, so clients connecting to Fusion 50 APs can use WPA2-Enterprise, even if you don't have a previously deployed authentication scheme — ensuring the highest level of integrity for your wireless network.

Virtual APs & Guest Access

One common Wi-Fi® use-case is to provide wireless access to your corporate guests — while hoping to maintain the privacy and integrity of your corporate infrastructure. The Fusion 300's captive portal capability, enables you to have guests click through a terms-of-use screen, or even enter a password, before they're given access to the network; and when they are granted access to the network, U4EA's access points are capable of segregating that traffic by putting it on a seperate VLAN.

We've already mentioned EasyPoint™'s plug-and-play capability for deploying your Fusion 50s and managing the RF spectrum automatically, but what about all of these security feature's we've been discussing? EasyPoint™ is just one feature of CompleteMobility™ Express — the software that powers your Fusion 300 WLAN controller. All of these features, and many more, are easily managed through CompleteMobility's intuitive, web-based user interface.

But while we think you'll use CompleteMobility's graphical interface for almost all of your tasks, we also recognize that business IT managers sometimes want to get a little more into the details of things. That's why CompleteMobility provides both a comprehensive command-line interface, as well as full configuration support via SNMP.

Clarion™ Voice Support with Fast Roaming

As the name implies, CompleteMobility™ is all about mobility, and while today that might mean data access for your laptop, we want to ensure that the our products meet your mobility needs well into the future. That's why the Fusion 300 comes equiped with Clarion™ Voice support — providing toll-quality voice for up to 30 simultaneous phone calls on Fusion 50 APs, or 60 phone calls on Fusion 70s.

The Fusion 300 is Wi-Fi® Certified for WMM — wireless multi-media support — but Clarion™ takes things well beyond the standard. In addition to WMM, it supports SpectraLink Voice Protocol (SVP), for integration with industy-leading Polycom wireless phones, as well as a dedicated voice capability for other telephony devices outside the scope of WMM and SVP.

Finally, CompleteMobility™ manages your voice clients as they roam from one AP to another, enabling roaming in less than 50 milliseconds — fast enough that it's indetectable to the human ear, so your call is free from interruption.
